Company History
In 2008 Metro Office Design (MOD) was launched by ATD-AMERICAN to serve the mid to high-end seating market. MOD germinated from an idea of Rebecca Zaslow, a 3rd generation shareholder of ATD-AMERICAN. In 1931, Irving Zaslow founded Jaffe’s Art Linens, a Philadelphia retail store that evolved into ATD-AMERICAN. For over 75 years this business has been owned and operated by the Zaslow family. In fact, nine members of the family are part of the current ATD management team.
Over our long history, we have grown into an international manufacturer and distributor. As our business expanded, so have our facilities. In 1979, ATD-AMERICAN moved from Philadelphia to our current headquarters in Wyncote PA. ATD’s building, with its innovative design and “Green” environment was included in Interiors magazine and the Third Book of Offices, as one of the “12 finest buildings in American architecture.”
Change is a constant, but one element that remains the same is our reliance upon “old fashioned” business principles that never go out of style. Personal accountability, caring and hard work are the values ingrained in MOD’s culture and is the foundation of our superior service and focus on quality.
